Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Unpause (“the Service”), operated by Unpause (“we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Unpause is a payment recovery tool for SaaS businesses that use Stripe for subscription billing. The Service connects to your Stripe account via OAuth, monitors failed payments, and automatically takes recovery actions including smart retries and customer email notifications.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account using Google OAuth to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to bind the business entity you represent.

4. Stripe Connection

The Service requires you to connect your Stripe account using Stripe Connect OAuth. By connecting, you authorize us to access your Stripe account data (invoices, customers, subscriptions, and payment events) as needed to provide recovery services. We access your Stripe account using the official Stripe Connect API with the permissions you grant. You may disconnect your Stripe account at any time from the Settings page.

5. Payment and Billing

The Service is offered in paid subscription tiers as described on our Pricing page. All fees are billed monthly in advance. You may cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We offer a 14-day free trial for new accounts. No credit card is required for the trial.

6. Data and Security

We take security seriously. All sensitive data (including Stripe API tokens) is encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC encryption. We never store your customers' card numbers. All communication with Stripe uses their official API over HTTPS. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

7. Emails Sent on Your Behalf

The Service sends recovery emails to your customers on your behalf when their payments fail. These emails use your business name and the templates you configure. You are responsible for ensuring these emails comply with applicable laws (including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and similar regulations) in your jurisdiction. You may customize or disable email templates at any time.

8. No Guarantee of Recovery

While we strive to maximize payment recovery, we cannot guarantee any specific recovery rate or outcome. Recovery rates depend on factors outside our control, including customer behavior, bank policies, and decline reasons. Recovery statistics shown in the Service are based on industry averages and may not reflect your individual results.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unpause shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data or use. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if your use poses a security risk. You may terminate your account at any time by disconnecting your Stripe account and cancelling your subscription. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
